Toll-like receptors 7 and 8 expression correlates with the expression of immune biomarkers and positively predicts the clinical outcome of patients with melanoma

OncoTargets and Therapy Sep 12, 2017

Zhang MC, et al. – The prognostic value of (Toll-like receptor) TLR7/8 mRNA levels in melanoma and their correlation with immune biomarkers relevant to disease progression were assessed. In melanoma tumors, high gene expression of TLR7 and TLR8 exhibited an association with high expression levels of functional markers of immune cells. It predicted longer overall survival of patients with melanoma. This study provided an important reference for the clinical prognosis of melanoma as well as presented new implications for the design of melanoma immunotherapy.
