T wave peak-to-end interval in COPD

International Journal of COPD Jul 19, 2018

Tural Onur S, et al. - Researchers investigated whether the interval from the peak to the end of the electrocardiographic (ECG) T wave (Tp–Te) can approximate cardiovascular mortality and ventricular tachyarrhythmias in patients with COPD. They included 134 patients with COPD and 40 healthy volunteers as controls for this study. They analyzed all data of the patients’ demographic features, history, spirometry, and electrocardiographs. They found strong evidence that COPD patients exhibited increased Tp–Te intervals. This finding was suggestive of a possible association between COPD and ventricular arrhythmias and cardiac morbidity.
