Long-term outcomes and risk factors for severe vision loss in autosomal dominant neovascular inflammatory vitreoretinopathy (ADNIV): Long-term outcomes and risk factors for vision loss in ADNIV

American Journal of Ophthalmology Jul 30, 2021

Boyce TM, Whitmore SS, Varzavand K, et al. - Researchers conducted this observational case series to describe the course of treated and untreated autosomal dominant neovascular inflammatory vitreoretinopathy (ADNIV) and to identify risk factors for severe vision loss. Clinical data from ADNIV patients from four families seen at a single academic, tertiary referral center from 1967 to 2019 were reviewed. In total, 130 eyes from 65 ADNIV patients (45 female, 20 male; mean age 40.8 years old, range 6-77 years) were involved. Patients with ADNIV have a high lifetime risk of severe vision loss. A significant risk factor for poor vision is tractional retinal detachment.
