Claßen A, et al. - Experts gauged the epidemiological association between contact allergy and psoriasis in a large multicenter cohort. They also evaluated the sensitization profile to specific allergens in these patients. Findings suggested a likelihood of the inverse association between psoriasis and allergic contact sensitization to be not exclusively mediated by psoriasis itself. In underlying immune-mediated diseases, eventually even beyond the skin, occurrence and significance of contact allergies may be influenced by the polarization of the activated immune response.
