A tropical cyclone originating from the Bay of Bengal in the east – cyclone Amphan - hit the Indian states of Orissa and West Bengal and the country of Bangladesh. Considered to be a ‘one of its kind’ in over a decade, people having been through it have described it as ‘living through hell.’ The devastating cyclone with an average wind speed of about 130 kmph, a peak of about 260 kmph for a min and 240 kmph for around three minutes, at a time when the state and its people were already battling the consequences of a deadly pandemic, created havoc.
