- Dr. V. Mohan is the Chairman and Chief of Diabetology at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai
- He oversees a chain of 52 diabetes centres across 9 states of India and has over 480,000 registered diabetes patients in his centres
- His centre in Chennai is a WHO Collaborating Centre for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care
- Dr. V. Mohan has published over 1275 papers in peer reviewed journals which is a world record by a practicing doctor in any specialty. This includes 836 original articles, 278 review articles and invited editorials and 161 chapters to text-books on Diabetes
