Two HP doctors held for false stenting
The Tribune Dec 01, 2018
FIRs have been registered against 2 doctors, one from a private hospital in Chandigarh and another from ECHS hospital for conducting angioplasty on a patient who did not suffer from any ailment.
The patient had gone for a routine checkup to the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) centre at Holta. He was then referred by the doctor at the centre to a private hospital at Chandigarh and was made to sign a blank form there. The patient mentioned that he was unaware before the angioplasty procedure that stents would be inserted into the arteries. The patient also mentioned that he wasn't provided with the CD of the first angiography procedure despite requesting several times. The police have registered a case against both the doctors and the doctors will be arrested soon.
