Total trauma care system will be introduced in Kerala within two years: Shailaja

Health Minister K K Shailaja on Sunday said total trauma care system will be introduced in all the major hospitals in the state, with in two years, while inaugurating the state-level National Voluntary Blood donation day at Panchayat hall here.
She ensured that the trauma care facility will be available in all the hospitals situated near the National Highway to avoid the risk factor during the golden hours in accidents. The patients relatives will also got a chance to seen the treatment procedures given by the doctors and this led to avoid all the doubts of the people. Minister Shailaja said the works for this project had already begin with the direction of the experts of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital , New Delhi. She said the pilot project with grade level-one (modernized) will be implemented at the Medical College Hospital inThiruvananthapuram within six months.
She also said the ambulance facility will also availed within ten minutes under this system with the help of GPS. The Health Minister also said the government has decided to open more blood bank and blood separation units soon consider the lack of blood units in the state. At present 167 blood banks including 36 under government sector has been functioning across the state. She also said the encourage of youths to donate the blood is necessary to save the people through awareness campaign.
