Take steps to ensure deaths are not taken place in GGH: CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to take steps to ensure that deaths were prevented in the Government General hospital

 

 

 

 

 



Responding to the series of deaths which took place in the GGH, a few days ago, the CM took the deaths of patients seriously and on Sunday warned officials of stringent action, if laxity in providing treatment to the patients was found. The CM held a review meeting with officials concerned on the series of deaths of patients, took place in the GGH in Ananthpur, in Puttaparthi in the district on Sunday. The CM directed the officials concerned to ensure that deaths are not taken place and warned the Medical and Health officials of stringent action if dereliction was found in providing medical treatment. 

The CM said that he would take very seriously if it was found that deaths were taken place for not providing needed medical treatment. He directed officials to be alert on the outbreak of viral and seasonal fevers. MLA Prabhakar Chowdary explained the Chief Minister about the deaths of patients in the GGH.District Collector G Veerapandyan explained the CM that all deaths in the GGH were natural and there was no laxity of doctors in providing treatment. The Collector told the Chief Minister that since most of them patients were discharged from the private hospital after their condition had become very critical and they were admitted to the GGH, who died while being treated. 

The Collector informed him that neither laxity of doctors nor dearth of medicines caused for the deaths patients. The Collector told the Chief Minister that if undergraduate medical seats were enhanced to 150 from the existing 100, beds could be enhanced in the GGH. The CM assured to consider the proposal and take a decision. The Chief Minister told the Collector that if the deaths in GGH were taken place because of negligence of doctors, that would be taken very seriously. Mr.Naidu directed the Collector to ensure that bio-metric system is implemented strictly in the GGH. DMHO Dr.Venkata Ramana, GGH Superintendent Dr.Jagannath, Medcial college principal Venkateswara Rao and DCHS Dr.Rameshnath were among who present.
