STOI report points out bullying at NIMS; could have driven doctor suicide
Times of India Dec 04, 2018
Report submitted by a special committee to probe the suicide of a doctor at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad has pointed out that bullying and harassment were very prevalent at the institute.

NIMS has always been known for such cases where seniors openly bully and belittle junior doctors, sometimes even in front of the patients, but this is the first time the issue has led a junior neurosurgery resident to end his life. Many junior and resident doctors have mentioned that bullying is so severe that it often leads to patients attacking them as well. For now, they are suffering in silence because the senior faculty has direct control over the examinations and resistance or backlash on a comment can greatly impact the future of a junior doctor.
