Punjab: Health department to conduct walk-in-interview for 323 posts of Medical Officers (Specialists)

Punjab Health and Family Welfare department would conduct the walk-in-interview to fill 323 posts of Medical Officers (Specialists) on a regular basis to overcome the shortage of Specialists during COVID-19 pandemic.

Stating this here on August 7, the Health Minister said that in addition to strengthening the health infrastructure, the state government has been laying thrust to fulfil the all vacant posts of Specialists in Government Hospitals to impart quality health services in the rural areas of the state. He said the there is a dire need of specialists in the health department to effectively deal with the coronavirus situation.
Giving details about the recruitment, the Minister said that 37 posts of Anaesthesia, 4 ENT, 44 General Surgery, 25 Gynaecology, 56 Medicine, 6 Ophthalmology, 4 Orthopaedics, 4 Pathology, 83 Paediatrics, 1 Psychiatry, 45 Radiology, 7 Skin and VD, TB and Chest would be recruited through walk-in-interview.
He said that as many as 470 applicants have applied for these posts as online applications were called from the eligible candidates. He said that now the newly selected candidates will be paid pay and emoluments as per 7th Central Pay Commission pattern. He also said that interview of Medicine and TB and Chest would be conducted on August 8 and Anaesthesia and Radiology on August 9 at Directorate Health and Family Welfare, Parivar Kalyan Bhawan, Chandigarh. However, the schedule for the interview of Speciality ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Skin and VO will be informed later.
