Political parties and social organisations lead 'dharna' for Govt Medical College

The workers of different political parties and social organisations staged a 'dharna' on September 3 in front of the district collector's office here to press for their demand of a Government Medical College at Parbhani.
The agitators were led by Shiv Sena MP from Parbhani Sanjay Jadhav. Addresing the agitators, Mr Jadhav claimed that despite meeting all the criteria needed for setting up of medical college in goverment hospital at Parbhani as well as his efforts by way of meeting Union Health Minister J P Nadda, State Medical Education Minister Girish Mahajan, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Subhash Desai and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, the state government has so far not given a medical college.
On the contrary, the state government has announced to set up medical colleges at Osmanabad and Dhule, he said. Mr Jadhav further said that the health problems faced by the common people can only be solved with the setting up of a medical college here and vowed to continue agitation in future until their demand is met. All the political parties and organisations declared their support to Mr Jadhav in this regard.
