Functioning of out patients department (OPD) in all government hospitals in the Union territory were affected as the employees struck work for one hour on February 19 to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things the immediate disbursement of the 7th pay commission recommendations arrears, health care allowance, nursing allowance and Travelling allowance. The employees left the hospitals and held a demonstration in front of the hospitals for one hour.
