Odisha doctor to receive IMA award

Dr. Yagnadatta Rath, a doctor from Odisha is set to receive 'IMA Dr CT Thakar Award’ on December 27 for his outstanding service.
This year in March, while working as an ad hoc doctor in Kandhamal district, Odisha, Dr. Yagnadatta Rath, came to know of a 23-year old tribal woman who went into labour while walking to the health centre. Dr. Rath covered a distance of 2 km by foot to help out the woman. He walked across a hill and even waded through a river to help the tribal woman.
Dr. Rath will receive the at Bengaluru during 79th annual meeting of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on December 27.
