The Secretary of the Federation for People’s Rights in a complaint to NHRC maintained that the body of one person who had succumbed to COVID-19 was thrown into the pit by the Health and Municipality workers while burying it on May 5 this year and thus not followed the guidelines in burying the body of COVID victims and dishonoured it. The Collector in a statement on August 18 said that the Commission accepting the complaint directed the Collector in its order dated July 24 to initiate action on the basis of the complaint and report to the commission within six weeks.
