At present Tripura is having as many as 11 government and two private blood banks and one trauma care centre in GB Pant government hospital, he said.
After BJP-IPFT government was formed in the state, a total of 42,158 units of blood were collected through voluntary donation camps, which accounts for 85 per cent of the total collection, while the remaining15 per cent supply was made through replacement donation, Deb added.
“We are working hard to develop quality healthcare service, with the aim to attract people from neighbouring states and the country. There is quality infrastructure in the state but we are suffering from shortage of specialist doctors. The government is working on a holistic model to reach the goal within a short span,” Deb stated.
