Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on September 22 said his government was mulling inclusion of all the people under health insurance cover as 85 per cent of the population of the state will benefit after the roll out of the 'Ayushman Bharat' on September 23.

"57 lakh families of the states total 68 lakh families will benefit from 'Ayushman Bharat', which is 85 per cent of the states population. The government is considering to include the rest 15 per cent population by collecting some premium from them," Das told reporters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 'Ayushman Bharat' scheme, covering 10.74 crore families in the country, from Ranchi on September 23.

"The prime minister will also launch ten 'Wellness Centres' for Jharkhand," Das said. To prevent any type of problem for the beneficiaries, 217 government hospitals and one hundred private hospitals have been listed, where the beneficiaries could avail the scheme up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year, he said.

"The scheme is such that a patient can get treatment anywhere in the country in the listed hospitals," he said. A total of 448 'arogya mitras' and 246 'medical coordinators' have been trained for government hospitals and 51 'arogya mitras' and 37 'medical coordinators' have been trained for private hospitals while many others are being trained, the chief minister said. The is the worlds largest, paperless, cashless and digitalised health scheme, he said.
