Interactive session on 'Mental Health in Work place' held at Jipmer

The 54th interactive session of the “Jipmer Health Education Initiative” focused on “Mental Health in Work Place” was held here today. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As many as 300 persons participated in the session, according to a Jipmer release.Mental Health in work place is a raising scenario in which, issues related to mental health and inter-personal relationship with employer, employee, and colleagues are prevailing in high risk. This programme focused on building knowledge and clearing doubts among the general public, issues related with common mental health and inter-personal relationship issues in work place, prevention, and treatment. 


The discussion focused on recognizing the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, and how to cope up with such issues in workplace. The panel members were Dr. Ravi Philip Rajkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Dr. S. Gopinath, Senior Resident, Department of Psychiatry, Mr. K. Arivazhagan, Clinical & Social Psychologist-cum Tutor, Department of Psychiatry, Ms K. Greeshma, Psychiatric Social Worker cum Tutor, made presentation on mental health in workplace such as common mental health issues, coping strategies, and inter-personel relationship issues in workplace. The session was telecasted live to all Medical Colleges in South India under National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through JIPMER Regional Resource Centre.
