Heart patients to get advance angiography treatment in IGMC

Advance angiography treatments would soon be offered to the heart patients in the Indra Gandhi Medical College Hospital, the state assembly was apprised Shimla on 23rd August.


Replying to a query raised by Congress leader, Health Minister said that new advance angiography with estimated cost of Rs 7.50 Cr was already being set up in the new OPD of IGMC hospital in Shimla. Patients or people are keenly waiting to recommission these units as they have to move post to pillar and go outside the state to undergo Angiography.

He said that new angiography unit was installed in the IGMC on Jun 26 and it would be made functional soon. This unit would not only prevent people from availing treatment outside the state but also provide the effective and advance treatment within the Hospital soon. This Machine would help patients to remove the blockage in the blood vessel and prove effective in preventing loss of blood from body. The unit would also help to treat the Neuro, Heart, Cancer, Ortho and other patients.

The Cancer and Nuclear Hospital unit Shimla was offering advance health services to patients replacing old fashioned cobalt simulator facility to treat them. The minister informed the house that new PAT (Positron Emission Tomography) would be explored in the IGMC. Replying to another supplementary query of Mr Anirudh Singh, the minster said that new hospital block of Cancer and Nuclear is under construction as tender to built up new block of this unit is handed over to M/s Tenzin Construction Private Limited.

The construction of hospital is on the war footing stage as its began in 2019, he added. Minister informed that the construction had delayed due to objection of National Green Tribunal. Earlier Congress members alleged in the house that execution of new hospital and advance units is being delayed for long time as the money to this unit was provided during the last government .
