Gurgaon doctors remove ovarian tumour in Iraqi woman with multiple comorbidities
Times of India Nov 01, 2018
Gurgaon doctors have successfully operated on a 70-year old woman with an ovarian tumour, after she was turned away by multiple surgeons in her country, due to several underlying health conditions.
The woman was overweight, had high hypertension, and bilateral knee osteoporosis and had to undergo surgery for removal of ovarian tumour, hysterectomy, and removal of the other ovary and fallopian tube. The doctors after considering several techniques of surgery, finally settled for a robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery to excise the 15 cm tumour. It lasted for 7 hours and the patient had five 8 mm incisions but only suffered a blood loss of 10 ml.
