GGH sanitary staff calls off five-day old strike

The sanitary staff working on contract basis in the government general hospital had called off their five-day old strike today following the assurance given by the hospital superintendent Dr Raghavendrarao on releasing of the wages pending for the past four months. 

 

 

 

 



A broad agreement was arrived at on resolving the strike after prolonged discussions held between the workers union representatives with the hospital superintendent in presence of RDO Raghubabu and Urban Tahasildar Balasubrahmanyam. The superintendent has also agreed to the demand of the workers union leaders that the contract bill amount due to the contractor should be held up till the PF, Bonus and ESI arrears are cleared. All the 217 contract sanitary workers have resumed duties in the evening following the agreement
