A five-day free plastic surgery camp in memory of late Padmashree Dr Sharadkumar Dicksheet was inaugurated on Wednesday morning at the hands of BVG chairman and managing director H R Gaikwad here at Lion Club hospital premises at N-1 Cidco locality.

This is the 42nd year of free camp which has been organised, without any break, jointly by Lions Club of Aurangabad-Chikalthana, Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) Medical Research Center and Aurangabad Chemist & Druggists Association at MGM campus. At inaugural function, project chairman of Lions Rajendra Lohia, Ravindra Karwande, Suresh Batana, Ramesh Pokarnna and all the members of club among others were also present.

Dr. Raj Lalla and Dr Vijay Moradiya, who come here every in Aurangabad year from America, will perform surgeries on patients who have registered themselves after check-up with the MGM Hospital. The two doctors come here to continue the mission of their guru Dr Dicksheet, who passed away in 2011 in US. Surgeries including of cleft lips, squint, Dermabrasion, scars revision, cleft pallet, ptosis, squint and nasal deformities will be performed in the camp. The Aurangabad Chemists and Druggists Association has made arrangement to provide all the medicines free of cost for the surgeries. While MGM Hospital will provide modern operation theaters and qualified doctors and nursing staff to help the surgeons, sources added.
