A 40-year old neurosurgeon was killed on November 30 after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Old Madras Road in Bengaluru.

The doctor has been identified as Dr. Poornima Shekar. She was a resident of Bengaluru and worked as a neurosurgeon at MVJ hospital. She was getting off the bus and trying to cross the road when a tempo hit her. She suffered severe injuries to her hands and legs and later died at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle is absconding.
