A 25-year old female doctor from Chennai's Vadapalani area committed suicide on November 27 over being childless.

The deceased, Dr. Vaishnavi, was a native of Andhra Pradesh. She had been married for three years and her husband is a doctor as well. On November 27, family members found her hanging in the bedroom and alerted the police. Preliminary investigation has revealed that there was no marital discord, but the doctor was sad over being childless. Police are continuing their investigation.
