Chandigarh holds Awareness Camp on importance of nutrition for TB patients

Keeping in with the government of India's initiative of observing September as Poshan Mah (Nutritional Month), the Chandigarh Health Department, in collaboration with the Rotary Midtown, held an awareness programme among the general public as well as TB patients, regarding the importance of diet, specially for patients suffering from Tuberculosis, for rapid recovery.
''TB Harega Desh Jetega with Pura Course of TB treatment and proper nutritional support,'' said Dr G Dewan, Mission Director-cum-Director of Health Services, here while distributing Nutritional supplement to MDR-TB and TB patients at Civil Dispensary, Ramdarbar. He also announced the Union government's notification of providing Rs 500 to every TB patient per month, till the completion of treatment. The supplement was also distributed to MDR-TB & TB patients by Rotary Midtown. Salil Bali, President of Rotary Midtown, said the nutritional supplement will be provided every month to MDR-TB & TB patients, till the completion of Treatment.
On this occasion, Dr Honney Sawhney, Nodal Officer RNTCP Chandigarh, generated awareness regarding regular and complete treatment. Rotary Club Midtown delivered lectures on importance of Nutrition for TB patients.
