Aged patient died: Relatives accuse doctor

Continuing the tradition of accusing the doctor, the relatives of an aged patient ranted against the doctor for dereliction in duty as the patient succumbed to his illness in the Dhalai district hospital in Kulai in the subdivision of Ambassa in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai in Ambassa on 8th September.
According to sources, one patient aged about 63 was admitted in the district hospital with some serious illness. Dr. Prasenjit Majumdar of the hospital attended the patient and treated her. Since morning the condition of the patient deteriorated and he finally succumbed to his illness around 11 am.
His nephew alleged, "Since morning my uncle has been in serious condition. I requested the on duty nurse to inform Dr. Majumdar several times. But the doctor was busy in private practice in his governmental residence. At the last moment I pleaded to another doctor who provided oxygen, prescribed for blood and haemoglobin test. However, my uncle died around 11 am. It is solely due to the negligence from the part of Dr. Majumdar". He also informed to knock the higher authority in this regard. However, Dr. Majumdar denied all allegations and said the patient was treated duly.
