Maharashtra appoints Dr. Dixit as brand ambassador for fighting diabetes

The Maharashtra government on November 19 appointed Dr. Jagannath Dixit, a well-known professor in Community and Preventive Medicine from Latur Medical College as the state's brand ambassador for tackling diabetes. 



Dr. Dixit is well known for advocating the 'two meals a day' diet that can help fight obesity, insulin resistance, and diabetes. Girish Mahajan, BJP leader mentioned that the state decided to select Dr. Dixit after noting that his diet plan is yielding good results. 

Dr. Dixit is the Head of Department of Community Medicine at Latur Medical College. He has been a professor for 26 years and has won several state and national awards for his work.
