Over 1.34 lakh patients avail services in 1201 spl outreach camps under NUHM in Haryana

More than 1.34 lakh patients have availed the services in 1,201 special outreach camps organised in Haryana, under National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) from January to September 2017. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stating this here on Friday, an official spokesman said that NUHM is a submission of National Health Mission, with high focus on urban poor population living in slums and all other vulnerable population like homeless, rag pickers, slum dwellers, sex workers, rickshaw pullers, construction workers, street children. It also focus to provide quality comprehensive healthcare which would be accessible affordable and responsive to the need of the target population.He said that under Outreach services, two special outreach camps per month were being organized in the catering areas of the Urban Primary Health Centres. These Special Outreach camps provide curative, preventive and promotive services by specialists including Gynaecologists, Dermatologists, Ophthalmologists, ENT specialist, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Psychiatrists, and Dentists in the outreach session. These sessions also provide basic diagnostic facilities wherever applicable. 


He said that all the services delivered under the urban health delivery system are being provided through Urban Primary Health Centres. In order to provide comprehensive healthcare services, the NUHM have 95 Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHC) in 28 cities of Haryana out of which 10 are functioning as delivery points. The package of services that the UPHC provide includes preventive, promotive and curative. He said that NUHM Haryana laying significant emphasis on improving the reach of health care services to the vulnerable groups. Outreach Services under NUHM play an important role in systematically delivering various benefits of health services to those who need them the most and find it difficult to access the center based services. Outreach services under NUHM, Haryana target the slum dwellers and other vulnerable groups in towns and cities.
