Former GMC principal Dr Naseer passes away

Former principal of Government Medical College (GMC) and legendary physician Dr Syed Naseer Ahmad Shah passed away on Wednesday morning in Srinagar. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has condoled the demise of Dr Naseer a well known philanthropist. Dr Naseer who was principal of GMC, Srinagar from 1969 to 1981 died at his Kral Sangri house on the bank of famed Dal Lake after a brief illness. He is credited for promoting teaching and raising level of medical education in the college. Meanwhile, DAK held a condolence meeting at GMC Srinagar to mourn the sad demise of Dr Naseer. 

President DAK Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan in the meeting expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family especially to wife of the deceased Dr Girija Dhar. “A medical luminary, Dr Naseer passed his MBBS from King Edward Medical College Lahore, Pakistan and after completing his FRCP from Edinburgh, United Kingdom he joined GMC and became Principal of this prestigious institution.” Paying rich tributes to the legend, Dr Hassan said the demise has left a great void in the field of medicine.
