Sangli: Three patients thrown at isolated place by Miraj hospital staff; one dies; dean orders probe

Miraj Medical College acting dean on 5th November constituted a committee to give a report on a shocking incident in which three patients admitted to the hospital were allegedly thrown to a isolated place by the staff, leading to death of one among them.
The patients admitted in Miraj Civil hospital, were allegedly taken by the hospital staff members in an ambulance and thrown at an isolated place of Sundar Park on Juna Kupwad road in the night of November 2. One social worker readmitted all the three patients at Sangli City Civil hospital, where one of them died during the medical treatment.
One of the patients, who survived stated that Miraj hospital staff took them from the hospital saying that they will admit them in another hospital for further medical treatment. Passersby informed the police after seeing them lying on the road. The dean of Miraj hospital, Dr. Deepak Gurav, has asked the three-member committee to submit the report within 48 hours. Sangli party leaders have met the dean and demanded registration of an FIR against the accused.
