Community Health Officer Course at Tanda medical college

A six months certified course in “Community Health” for a batch of 60 nurses started on 16th September at Dr Rajinder Prasad Govt. Medical College, at Tanda.
Prof Bhanu Awasthi Principal Dr RP Govt Medical College welcomed the students and introduced course objectives. Dr Parveen Kumar, Nodal Officer of the course introduced course curriculum and study material to the participants. Principal Awasthi told UNI that the course is certified by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and every year two batches will be trained and passed out from this institution. He said that the next academic session will start on January 2020.
He said after completion of this course, these nurses will be posted at upcoming Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) across state as Community Health Officers (CHOs). Dr Awasthi said that course will ensure better health care near to people and strengthen the primary health care in hard to reach areas and thanked the Department of Community Medicine for coordinating this course.
