Forty-five patients, including 35 children, were shifted safely to other wards after a fire broke out in the paediatric unit of state-run SSG Hospital in Gujarat's Vadodara late 10th September afternoon, an official said.
Hospital Superintendent Dr Deveshwar Pandey said the fire started in the second floor of the three-storeyed paediatric unit, adding that the damage was restricted to an air-conditioning unit and window panes, and all medical records were safe. "No one was injured in the incident. We shifted 35 children and 10 adult patients to other wards. The fire seems to have started in an air-conditioning unit as thick black smoke was coming out of it. The fire brigade doused it quickly," he said.
