Bahbahani H, et al. - Researchers performed a comparison of nephrologist-led management of warfarin therapy vs that led by specialized anticoagulation clinic in hemodialysis patients with atrial fibrillation. The two management strategies indicated no statistical difference in terms of mean Time in Therapeutic Range (TTR). However, the nephrologist-led management achieved a trend toward a higher proportion of patients with optimal TTR which was associated with more frequent monitoring and greater cost effectiveness.
