Cnossen MC, et al. - Researchers performed this study to investigate variation in monitoring and treatment policies for intracranial hypertension in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Regarding monitoring and treatment policies, they found substantial variation in patients with TBI and intracranial hypertension. The study demonstrated a lack of consensus between European neurotrauma centers and provided an opportunity and necessity for comparative effectiveness research.
