Marecek GS, et al. - During this trial, experts ascertained if a defined approach for debridement of open tibia fractures led to no change in reoperation rate, but reduced the requirement for flap coverage. The need for flap coverage in selected patients could be reduced by such surgical approach for the debridement of open tibia fractures. This technique was found to be safe.
