Urinary protein profiles in ketorolac-associated acute kidney injury in patients undergoing orthopedic day surgery

Mariano F, et al. - Researchers sought cases complicated by readmission due to acute kidney injury (AKI) in a cohort of young adults undergoing elective orthopedic day surgery. They observed that there was a possibility for AKI development even in young adults who had undergone a short course of ketorolac, when they suffered from relative dehydration, abdominal disturbances, flank pain and oliguria after discharge. A marked nonselective glomerular proteinuria was evident in urine findings, which disappeared in 2–3 weeks.
