Ultrasound non-invasive measurement of intracranial pressure in neurointensive care: A prospective observational study
PLoS Medicine Aug 09, 2017
Robba C, et al. – An exploration was performed of the correlation between ultrasound–based non–invasive intracranial pressure (nICP) and invasive ICP measurement, in neurocritical care patients. It was reported that optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) was the best estimator of ICP. The combination of ONSD ultrasonography and venous transcranial Doppler (vTCD) of the straight sinus, presented as a promising and readily available method for determining critically ill patients with intracranial hypertension.
