Tunicamycin potentiates paclitaxel-induced apoptosis through inhibition of PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathways in breast cancer

Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology Aug 09, 2017

Huang S, et al. – The antitumor activity of the combination treatment of paclitaxel with tunicamycin was examined in this study. In addition, the mechanisms involving the changes of antitumor efficacy were analysed. By potentiating apoptosis via inhibiting paclitaxel–induced elevation of AKT and MAPK pathways, tunicamycin synergistically enhanced the antitumor effects of paclitaxel. Possibly, this combination seemed to be a promising approach for improving the clinical activity of paclitaxel.
