Wehkamp U, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA) expression in Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) as a rationale for potential targeted therapy. In the 100% of evaluable specimens, the tropomyosin receptor kinase A was expressed on MCC tumor cells. This data could lead to the analysis of new targeted treatment options in MCC, particularly for patients who did not respond to anti–programmed cell death protein 1 treatment.
