Amaral JK, et al. - During this research, experts appraised the efficacy and safety profile of methotrexate (MTX) in the treatment of chronic chikungunya arthritis. It was determined that MTX in combination with hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and sulfasalazine (HCQ) was superior to HCQ monotherapy. Yielded data brought to light the sufficient efficacy of MTX to justify interest in the treatment of chronic chikungunya arthritis.
