Finn SW, et al. - Researchers here examined if treatment for alcohol dependence in primary care is as effective as specialist addiction care. Findings revealed that in primary care, treatment for alcohol dependence is a promising approach, particularly for individuals with low to moderate dependence. For alcohol dependence, this could be a way to broaden the base of treatment and reduce the current treatment gap.
