There are no no-responders to low or high resistance training volumes among older women

de Siqueira Mendes Barbalho M, et al. - The prevalence of non-responders to different tests was evaluated. Furthermore, the authors compared the effects of different resistance training (RT) volumes on muscle strength, anthropometric and functional performance of older women. They proposed that with no evidence of non-responsiveness, RT improved waist circumference, muscle strength and physical function in the older population even at low volume. Hence, in prescribing this type of exercise to this population, physicians should not be restrictive.
