Nakagawa A, et al. - Researchers planned this work to assess the usefulness of the surgical Apgar score (SAS) in esophagectomy, and its correlation with long-term prognosis after esophagectomy. In this work, the usefulness of SAS was recognized for predicting short-term complications. In addition, it proved a long-term prognostic factor following esophagectomy.
