The role of KLRG1 in human CD4+ T cell immunity against tuberculosis
The Journal of Infectious Diseases Feb 02, 2018
Hu Z, et al. - The researchers aimed at elucidating the role of KLRG1 (a marker of terminally differentiated CD8+ T cells in viral infection) in human tuberculosis infection. In this study, they described the profile of KLRG1+CD4+ T cells in tuberculosis patients. Observations revealed that in a terminally differentiated state, tuberculosis infection drives CD4+ T cells to acquire increased effector function which was directed by KLRG1 via KLRG1/Akt signaling pathway.
