The relationships of school-based sexuality education, sexual knowledge and sexual behaviors - A study of 18,000 Chinese college students
Reproductive Health Sep 01, 2017
Li C, et al. – This study was performed to understand how college students knowledge on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) affects their behavioral pattern when they encounter sex, and what different reproductive health outcomes they would have experienced. And also to investigate the relationship between one's reporting experience of receiving school–based sexuality education programs and his or her knowledge level on SRH. Students' experience of school–based sexuality education may be positively connected with their SRH knowledge level and also with their sexual behaviors and reproductive health outcomes, but such associations were stronger among males than females. A more effective implementation of school–based sexuality education should be scaled up, and a gender–sensitive education strategy to different requirements is desirable for SRH promotion among Chinese young people.
