The prognostic value of TPM1–4 in hepatocellular carcinoma

Cancer Medicine Dec 04, 2021

Tian Z, Zhao J, Wang Y, et al. - Prognostic values of tropomyosins (TPMs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were investigated and it was found that TPM1–4 could have an important role in HCC development.

  • From UCSC XENA, original TPM1–4 mRNA expression of TCGA HCC data and GTEx was downloaded, and for verification, Oncomine database and GSE46408 were utilized.

  • In HCC, the expression level of TPM1–4 was all remarkably elevated.

  • High TPM3 expression was identified to be correlated with poor overall survival.

  • The high-risk group exhibited significantly higher TPM3 expression vs the low-risk group.

  • TPM3 could serve as an independent prognostic factor for HCC.

  • TPM1–4 was found to be related to some tumor-infiltrating immune cells in HCC.
