The potential of narrow band UVB to induce sustained durable complete remission off-therapy in stage I mycosis fungoides

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology May 31, 2018

Felix P, et al. - Authors evaluated the long-term disease-free survival (DFS) following Narrow Band UVB (NB UVB) treatment stage I Mycosis Fungoides (MF). Over a half of stage I MF patients achieve more than 5 years DFS period and potentially cured after a single course of NB UVB. Therefore, consideration of NB UVB as a disease-modifying therapy could be made. Findings suggested that DFS was independently affected with only age and disease stage. For patients younger than 50 years old and for stage IA patients, the DFS was longer.
