The parameters that help to differentiate biliary atresia from other diseases

Pediatrics International Aug 17, 2017

Hayashida M, et al. – This study focused on the clinical features and parameters that aid to differentiate biliary atresia (BA) from other diseases. It was suggested that the preoperative level of gamma–glutamyl transpeptidase (γ–GTP) might be useful for diagnosing BA. However, the operative cholangiography should be performed when the BA was suspected and cannot be ruled out by other methods, as the most common non–BA disease might be inspissated bile syndrome (IBS).
