The long-term results of simultaneous high flexion mobile-bearing and fixed-bearing total knee arthroplasties performed in the same patients
Journal of Arthroplasty Nov 16, 2018
Kim YH, et al. - Authors sought to ascertain the long-term clinical, radiographic and CT scanning results of high-flexion mobile-and fixed-bearing total knee arthroplasties (TKAs) in the same younger patients. They performed bilateral simultaneous sequential TKAs in 164 patients (328 knees). They also assessed the survivorship and complication rate of both groups. Experts did not note any significant difference between these two groups with regard to functional outcome, knee motion, prevalence of osteolysis or survivorship after a minimum duration of follow-up of 13 years. The surgeon was not given a clear direction by the present study toward either arm of treatment.
