Palli E, et al. - This investigation was pursued to determine the incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy in critical care patients in association with the use of N-acetylcysteine and ascorbic acid. In critically ill patients who underwent contrast-enhanced computed tomography and were given N-acetylcysteine and ascorbic acid via the intravenous route, no attenuation was visible in contrast-induced nephropathy, despite a significant reduction of 8-isoprostane levels in treated patients.
